New Changes to Twitter
Twitter announced that in the coming months they are going to make changes so you can get more out of your Tweets. Those 140 characters are oh-so-valuable, and coming soon, @names in replies and attachments like photos, videos, and GIFs won’t go towards those 140 characters.
When replying to a Tweet, @names will not count towards the 140-characters.
This is a huge win when replying to people with longer-than-average Twitter handles.
Photos, GIF’s and videos will not count towards the 140-characters
When you add attachments to your Tweets – photos, GIFs, videos, polls, or Quote Tweets, they won’t count as characters within your Tweet. Now you can add those attachments, plus have ample room for text.
Retweet and Quote Tweet yourself
Have you ever shared a Tweet that you truly felt shared valuable information, but it just didn’t get noticed like you thought it should? Twitter is going to be enabling the Retweet button on your own Tweets, so you will be able to Retweet or Quote Tweet yourself. Just don’t go back and Retweet all your Tweets all at once, that would not be cool.

Just because you can Retweet yourself, doesn’t mean you should.
Twitter is removing the .@
In order for Tweets to reach your whole audience, you would need to add a period before the @ username, or else the Tweet would be a private Tweet. This is now changing so that new Tweets that begin with a username will reach all your followers.
How the Twitter changes are good for your business
These changes are important for your business, because they make using Twitter more user-friendly, and you get a bit more freedom and ability to share more.
One of the pros of using Twitter is that because of the 140 character limit, you can scroll through and see so much news and updates in a short time. Now, Tweets can still be nice and short, but you can add images and other media to enhance your message and gain more attention to your message, without losing any valuable characters.
These changes may seem simple, but they add a lot of value to their users. And making Twitter better for their users means it is easier and better to use for your own business.
What do you think of the Twitter changes? Are they useful for you and your business?
