With the huge amount of content we consume daily – blogs, newsletters, videos, video streaming- it’s sometimes overwhelming. I sign up for a crazy amount of newsletters, webinars, and online training, and love checking out new tools and strategies on social media. There are a few power hitters in social media that I absolutely love – and think you might like them too. Here is the list of the social media influencers that you should be following (and maybe already are!)

I’m sure anyone who is even the least bit interested in social media has heard of Social Media Examiner. They share amazing content daily from the world’s top influencers. If you need one source for everything social media, this is it. Blogs, newsletter, podcast and social media events- they have it all.

Visual Marketing

Peg Fitzpatrick is amazing and not only does she have a best-selling book The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users which she wrote with Guy Kawasaki, but she has great tips for Pinterest and Instagram, and free resources on her website like her list of social media tools she loves (awesome tools included!).

With hundreds of social media platforms, it helps to have a mentor to follow and learn from

If you have any interest in learning about Instagram, Sue B. Zimmerman is the Instagram Expert. She is super fun, high energy and has awesome tips on her website. You can download her Instagram Strategy Guide, or sign up for her Instagram Marketing Course for Beginners. She is fun to watch on Periscope, has great ideas for using hashtags, and you can even buy a hashtag sign from her. #fun

Periscope

There are some great scopers out there, but Kim Garst has a Periscope training program available for a reasonable price. Her scopes are real, inspirational, and if you are considering using this platform, watch one of her scopes.

Webinars

Amy Porterfield is known for her useful Facebook marketing tips and strategies, but I took her webinar about creating a profitable webinar strategy and loved it! She shared really valuable information for how to create a successful webinar – and it was free! You can, of course, sign up for further training, but if you haven’t signed up for her webinar yet, I highly recommend it. Plus, she is so fun and upbeat to listen to, it’s fun to learn from her.

LinkedIn

To stay updated on everything LinkedIn, follow Melonie Dodaro. She always blogs about the latest LinkedIn changes and updates and she has a LinkedIn course you can sign up to learn everything about LinkedIn.

Facebook

I think she is always top of mind when you think of Facebook. Mari Smith always has the latest Facebok updates, tips and strategies and sends out a really informative newsletter. Sign up for her Facebook training courses, or look through her free resources for tips on adding custom apps to your Facebook page.

SEO and Content Marketing

If you
need tips about driving traffic to your website, or useful SEO information, sign up for Neil Patel‘s newsletter. It is one of the most useful newsletters that I receive because it always has great information, from combining SEO with content marketing, to steps for your content marketing plan.

Video Marketing

It’s hard to categorize Sunny Lenarduzzi because she covers everything from Snapchat to Twitter, but she has a lot of great information on video marketing especially. Her YouTube channel features many useful how-to videos on social media and has a really positive and up-beat attitude which is fun to watch!

YouTube

Roberto Blake is a graphic designer but also has an awesome YouTube channel filled with ideas based on his theme to ‘create awesome’. You can watch how to create a WordPress website in 5 minutes, learn Photoshop, or learn how to grow your YouTube channel. He is also on Blab and shares some inspirational thoughts.

I have two favourites in this category. Jeff Bullas has an awesome website and newsletter and always delivers useful content. This is one newsletter that I almost always read. He has some great blogging resources on his website.

The Nectar Collective which is run by Melyssa Griffin. This is one of my favourite websites because it has amazing resources and it’s so visually appealing. There are blog tips, social media tips, entrepreneur tips and self development. This is one of my favourite blogs to read.

Growing Your Business

I just took an amazing business planning training from Lisa Larter. It was so awesome, had useful information, was really interactive and she provided some great planning documents too. Definitely someone you want to follow if you are looking to grow your business.

One last blog that I often read comes from Rebekah Radice. I really love her style and she also provides awesome social media content about a variety of platforms. Another must-read.

I would love to hear who your favourite social media influencer is or which blog is your absolute favourite read.
